  4. 1. Remove 5 screws, 4 from the back and one from the side just below the PTT
  5.    switch.
  6. 2. Open the unit by holding the battery release switch on the bottom and
  7.    carefully pushing up on the BNC connector. (Instructions for opening the
  8.    unit are printed in the back of the owner's manual.)
  9. 3. With the unit open and the main unit (the one with the CPU) to the right,
  10.    two small jumper wires, one red, one blue will be seen. Cut these wires
  11.    carefully and tape the ends.
  12. 4. Reassemble the unit and replace the battery.
  13. 5. Reset the CPU by turning on the power whilst holding down the "FUNCTION"
  14.    button.  (Note this erases all memory contents - write them down first.)
  15. 6. The unit will now receive and transmit out of band.  Be warned that this
  16.    is a serious offence and carries heavy penalties.
  17. 7. By pressing the "B" button whilst in VFO mode, the unit will toggle
  18.    between the aircraft (AM) band and 2m.
